Suzuki Takahide |
Suzuki Takahide (鈴木昂秀) is a Japanese performer, actor, choreographer, rapper and model. He is member of the groups THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE and MA55IVE THE RAMPAGE.
He participated in the GLOBAL JAPAN CHALLENGE, but didn't get selected.
Early Life[]
Suzuki Takahide was born on October 3, 1998 in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. He has two older brothers.
In his childhood, Suzuki dreamed of becoming a professional soccer player and wanted to be a goalkeeper despite his thin body type. He played soccer from kindergarten until about 5th grade and his skills were so high that he was chosen as a member of the prefectural team.[1][2]
In 2009, when he was in 5th grade of elementary school, Suzuki auditioned for Dai 2kai Gekidan EXILE Audition but failed. Afterwards, he moved on to being a dancer. He had been doing some dancing for fun even prior to his first audition, however this was the changing point in his life when he decided to start dancing in earnest. At that time, one of his friends encouraged him to try out Hip-Hop dance. Additionally, one of his brothers had been a big fan of EXILE which influenced Suzuki to take up dancing too.[2] As a result, he started attending EXPG Tokyo.[1]

2013[]
In December 2013, after becoming a scholarship student at EXPG, Suzuki participated in the GLOBAL JAPAN CHALLENGE to become part of PROJECT TARO but didn't get selected.[1][3]
2014[]
In April 2014, he was announced as a candidate for EXILE TRIBE's upcoming group THE RAMPAGE and was confirmed as an official member on September 12 in the same year after completing the group's first musha shugyo.[4]
2016[]
In 2016, he made his acting debut as "Tsuji" in HiGH&LOW THE MOVIE after passing an internal audition within LDH JAPAN for one of the roles in the movie.[5]
2017[]
On January 25, Suzuki made his major debut in THE RAMPAGE with the group's first single "Lightning".
During THE RAMPAGE's first tour THE RAMPAGE LIVE TOUR 2017-2018 "GO ON THE RAMPAGE" Suzuki was introduced as a member of the group's first sub-unit alongside 4 other performers. In this sub-unit he takes on the position of a rapper, marking the first time he would provide his vocals to any work of THE RAMPAGE. The quintet made their official debut as MA55IVE THE RAMPAGE with the digital song "Determined" on February 6, 2020.[6]
2020[]
In 2020, he created the official lyric videos for the songs "Determined" and "FAST LANE" by himself.[1]
2024[]
In February, he played his first starring role in a movie in Tada, Anata wo Rikai Shitai, for which MA55IVE THE RAMPAGE, which he is part of, provided the theme song "Gerbera".[7][8][9][10][11]
Personal Life[]
- Health
On April 2, 2019, Suzuki was diagnosed with acute lymphadenitis and did not participate in the THE RAMPAGE LIVE TOUR 2019 "THROW YA FIST" concerts in Wakayama on April 3 and 4 in order to recover.[12]
On January 7, 2021, it was announced that Suzuki had been diagnosed with COVID-19. The PCR test results had turned out positive the day before when he underwent regular inspections, however he was asymptomatic and had no fever.[13]

- His first encounter with Hip-Hop music was when he was in elementary school and his dance teacher was choreographing using Tyga's music. He has been a fan of Tyga ever since.[21][1]

- In an interview in 2020, he revealed that his goal is to compose music for MA55IVE THE RAMPAGE, and he hopes to eventually work behind the scenes as well.[23][1]
