He has also purchased land and built a villa for his family in the Philippines.[52]
His elder sister, Loveli (born Shirahama Izumi), is a fashion model and television personality. She also has a close friendship with the members of GENERATIONS.[53] His younger brother, Shirahama Ryu, was a student at EXPG[1] and was a contestant on SM Entertainment's reality survival show NCT Universe : LASTART, which would show the formation process of NCT's final unit NCT WISH. On the show, it was revealed that Ryu had only spent 2 weeks as a trainee at SM Entertainment before being selected to appear on the survival program.[54] On September 6, 2023, with the final episode of the show, it was revealed that Ryu was not selected to join NCT WISH.[55]
His mother runs a bar in his hometown Ehime.[56]
His family is Catholic, and foreign cultures have been common around them. In his childhood, he went to church, and Christmas was a very important day for his family.[57]

Trivia[]
- Emoji: 🐰 (Rabbit Face)
- Has a dog named "Rex".[79]
- Speaks English and Tagalog.[80]
- Opened a personal Twitter account on June 1, 2022.[81]
- According to himself, one of his strengths is that he can approach any person without hesitation.[82]
- The only instrument he ever played was the guitar at a junior high school festival.[83]
- According to himself, the most important turning point in his life was his encounter with dance. He originally wanted to play the guitar and practiced hard when he was in junior high school, but when he encountered dance, he started to enjoy it more. After debuting, he became completely absorbed in music.[84]
- According to himself, his first setback was when he had just moved to Tokyo from Ehime and was shocked to see many people who were better at dancing than him. "[...] When I saw the video of me dancing in GENERATIONS' "Yumesha Shugyo" held from 2011 to 2012, I was always depressed and wondered why I was so bad at dancing. But recently, I have come to realize that "people are people, and I am me. I don't have to fight on the same field as others.", and I have come to feel more confident in my dancing. After I switched to a mindset of making the most of what I have and finding what suits me best, I feel much more at ease."[84]
- Started composing music around 2016 and started working as a DJ around 2015.[83][82]
- Likes to compose dance music, but since he couldn't make a living only with that, he has also been composing pop music.[83]
- Composing music is a way to relax in his spare time to him.[85]
- Learned how to create music all by himyself, using YouTube and other sources as references.[84][82]
- His initial goals as a DJ were goals to make a solo EP and to expand overseas as a music producer.[82]
- The reason he started composing is because he felt that he could not be called an artist if he did not create and put his heart into it.[83]
- The first time he got in contact with composing was during GENERATIONS Musha Shugyo: "We had to perform one chorus, but we only had a full-length sound source, so I edited it for one chorus on GarageBand since I had a MacBook. It was just a simple edit at the time, but that's when I realized how much fun it was, and I guess DTM suited my personality. Working on a PC at home suited my nature, and I think the fact that I was able to do it while having fun was a big part of it."[83]
- When he was in junior high school, he loved playing a sound game on the Nintendo DS called "Daigasso! Band Brothers", a software that allowed you to create your own music.[84]
- EXILE HIRO provided him with the equipment for DJing: "When I said, "I want to be able to write and release my own songs someday," and "I want to be a DJ", he gave me a set of equipment (laughs)." HIRO also told him he could quit if he didn't think it was right for him.[83]
- As a DJ, his favorite genres are tech house and bass house, but he also listens to psychedelic and trance music.[86]
- His DJ logo was created by Paul Nicholson, who also created the Aphex Twin logo. Shirahama DM'd the designer himself and paid for the logo by himself too.[87]
- Eventually, he would like to work more like a singer-songwriter.[87]
- Tries not to write lyrics based on his own experiences. "If I write lyrics based on my own experiences, they are only as broad as the range of my own life, and I think I can only make something uninteresting. So I watch a lot of movies and listen to music [...], and write lyrics as if I were a screenwriter."[82]
- Tries to keep his positions and responsibilities within different groups and as a soloist seperate.[84][88]
- His acting experience also helps him express himself in his musical activities, for example by getting him into the mindset that he is playing a character in the songs he produces.[88]
- According to himself, it is really tough when he can't find time for himself because he is busy with live shows, and has group activities and TV appearances during the day, so when it comes to writing songs, he usually has to do it in his hotel room late at night. Therefore, he always carries a PC, headphones, and the bare minimum of tools necessary for composing with him, and use them in his creative time.[84][88]
- Thinks that female vocals suit the songs he writes the most.[82]
- Would also like to ask many international vocalists if possible, and will probably continue to work with Daniel Durn and Katrine "Neya" Klith in the future (creators involved in hi first EP null).[82]
- Is always on the lookout for vocals, and has a fundamental desire is to support creators, so he hopes to find hidden talents and do something interesting together.[82]
- According to himself, he is not good at teaching or training others in the art of songwriting. However, he thinks it would be fun if there were more performers who could write songs.[82]
- Follows his instincts and trusts his gut when it comes to work.[84]
- Loves cassettes and collects them. He also sometimes records his songs on cassettes.[89]
- Also collects records, CDs and rock T-shirts. He buys "vinyl" records for songs and artists that are not on streaming services.[85]
- According to his fellow EXILE TRIBE members, he spends a lot of time on beauty and skin care, and usually doesn't wear any makeup at all.[90]
- Likes manga about music, such as BECK and BLUE GIANT.[91]
- Likes horror films.[92][93]
- Would like play a wind instrument, and can play the guitar to some extent.[79]
- Likes going to saunas.[85]
- Always eats honey before going to bed to take care of his throat and be energized the next morning.[85]
- In an interview in August 2023, he mentioned that he would like to travel abroad, see shows and live performances, and go to clubs in various countries. He would be particularly interested in the UK since he loves band culture, and would like to hear UK techno and UK house music in their home country.[85]
- According to himself as the leader of GENERATIONS, the members have such strong individuality that it is impossible to get them together, and he shifted his focus on utilizing each person's strengths in order to maintain a balance.[84]
- According to himself, it is important to him to be a leader who is attentive, gives precise advice and lets the members themselves make decisions rather than force his ideas on the members or push them too hard. "[...] When I am asked for advice on whether or not to do a particular job, I always say, "If you want to do it, I think you should do it. But you don't have to force yourself to do it."", "[...] Each member has the right to make decisions. So, no matter how much we talk about our true feelings, I dare not have the authority to make decisions."[95]
- In an interview in August 2023, he revealed that he had been embarrassed to show his acting to his members before: "If this had been 3 or 4 years ago, I might have felt embarrassed that the members could see me acting in the film. In fact, when I did a drama with Mandy before, I was so embarrassed that I even hated going to the set. But after 10 years together, my shyness has completely disappeared."[96]
- Close with music producer SLAY, and they often work together as have similar tastes in music.[82]
- According to himself, THE RAMPAGE member Ryu also has similar tastes in music.[82]
- Was high school classmates with and is friends with Snow Man member Iwamoto Hikaru. He would also like to contribute songs to Snow Man as a composer and songwriter.[97]
- Friends with the members of the band Ryokuoushoku Shakai, specifically their bassist Anami Shingo.[98][56]
