Matsumoto Toshio (松本利夫), also known by his former stage name MATSU, is a Japanese actor and former performer. He is a retired member of EXILE.

Matsumoto started his career in 1994 as member of the group BABY NAIL, alongside ÜSA and MAKIDAI. In 1996, the group disbanded and in 1998 he joined J Soul Brothers.

On December 31, 2015, he (alongside ÜSA and MAKIDAI) retired from his position as performer of EXILE.

On January 15, 2021, he started his own YouTube channel titled MATSUbocchi IN THE HOUSE (MATSUぼっち IN THE HOUSE).

Personal Life[]

On July 22, 2013, MATSU announced that he had gotten engaged with a non-celebritiy woman 10 years younger than him whom he had been dating for 7 years. In his announcement he mentioned that this woman had supported him through the difficult time when he was diagnosed with Behcet's disease.[1]

On January 1, 2014, it was revealed that the couple had submitted their marriage registration.[2]

On April 20, 2016, he announced that his first child, a boy, had been born healthy and safely.[3]

On January 1, 2023, he announced the birth of his second child.[4][5][6][7] The child's gender was initially undisclosed, but later revealed to be a girl.[8]
