Kuwahara Takumi |
Kuwahara Takumi (桑原 巧光) is a Japanese performer, choreographer and rapper. He is a member of the group THE JET BOY BANGERZ from EXILE TRIBE.
He is also a member of the dance crews "FORCE ELEMENTS" and "BEAT SOLDIER", and the leader of "CyberAgent Legit" which competes in Japan's D.LEAGUE.
Early Life[]
Kuwahara Takumi was born on May 19, 2000 in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan.
Kuwahara was devoted to baseball until he was about 9 years old, and when the World Baseball Classic (WBC) started, he memorized the batting average of all the players on the Japanese and Korean teams.
In 2011, when the Great East Japan Earthquake struck and people refrained from going out, he searched for sports that could be done indoors as he was unable to play baseball. Ultimately, he was captivated by dancing when he went to visit the dance studio his sister attended. His talent quickly blossomed, and after only four years of dancing, he won a national-level dance battle.[1] Afterwards, he won many national competitions, including the "DANCE@LIVE 2015 JAPAN FINAL" Kids Championship, the "DANCE CUP FINAL" hosted by LDH JAPAN for two consecutive years, and the "High School Dance Battle Championship" for two consecutive years. He also started being active overseas and won the monthly 100-point contest at the "APOLLO AMATEUR NIGHT" with his own choreography at the age of 16.[2]
In his youth, he also appeared in commercials, music videos for artists, and as a backup dancer on numerous music programs such as "Music Station". One of the artists he worked as a backup dancer for was DEAN FUJIOKA.[3][4]
In April 2019, he was admitted to the School of Law at Waseda University and moved to Tokyo alone.[5][6] At the same time, he continued working as a professional dancer.[1]

2020[]
In August 2020, it was announced that he had joined the dance crew "CyberAgent Legit", one of the teams competing in D.LEAGUE, Japan's first professional dance league, which would start in January 2021.[7]
2022[]
On July 23, at the third concert of BATTLE OF TOKYO TIME 4 Jr.EXILE titled BATTLE OF iCON Z, it was announced that he would participate in the second chapter of LDH's audition iCON Z ~Dreams For Children~ as one of 5 professional dancers from D.LEAGUE, Japan's first official dance league.[8][9][10]
During the audition, the contestants formed three different groups in order to compete for an imminent debut. On the November 13 episode of ~Yume no Audition Variety~ Dreamer Z, it was revealed that Kuwahara was placed in Group 3.[11] On the November 20 episode, it was revealed that the group would be named THE JET BOY BANGERZ.[12]
2023[]
On March 25, he graduated from Waseda University School of Law.[13][14]
On March 26, it was announced that THE JET BOY BANGERZ would be making their major debut under Sony Music Associated Records on August 23 along with the other two groups of the audition.[15]
On August 23, Kuwahara made his major debut as a member of THE JET BOY BANGERZ with the release of the group's first single "Jettin'".
Personal Life[]

Kuwahara's family is very supportive of his career as a professional dancer and his participation in numerous dance competitions. Especially his father, Kuwahara Kazuya, took great pride in his son not neglecting his studies while working as a dancer and being admitted to Waseda University's Faculty of Law. However, his father initially opposed Kuwahara's decision to participate in the second chapter of the iCON Z ~Dreams For Children~ audition after he informed his family about it in spring 2022. Nevertheless, Kuwahara was able to convince him of his determination. Unfortunately, his father passed away from a ruptured aortic aneurysm before the second chapter of the audition started.[1]

- In terms of dance genres, he specializes in popping. He also considers his solo performance ability as his strength.[17]
- The youngest team leader in D.LEAGUE.[2][1]
- As the leader of "CyberAgent Legit" in D.LEAGUE, he thinks up the composition and choreography himself, creates the music for the productions, and also creates the video that the viewers see.[2]
- Started rapping after participating in the iCON Z audition.[18]
- In elementary school, his dream was to become a gourmet reporter, and he still aspires to do so.[19]
- Admires EXILE TETSUYA who is active in a wide range of fields.[19]
- Is friends with MOONCHILD's UWA and CDL ∞'s TSUKUSHI since their pre-debut days as dancers.
