Kawaguchi Soma (川口 蒼真; also written as Kawaguchi Souma) is a Japanese rapper and performer. He is a member of the group KID PHENOMENON from EXILE TRIBE.
Early Life[]
Kawaguchi Soma was born on September 27, 2006 in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan.
He started dancing at the age of 9 and participated in many stages as a kid dancer.[1][2]
Career[]
2021-2022[]
From 2021 to 2022, Kawaguchi participated in the boys division of the audition iCON Z ~Dreams For Children~ and was selected as a member of the team KIDMATIC during the screening process. KIDMATIC made it to the final screening on May 21, 2022, where they were ultimately eliminated and disbanded.[3]
2022[]
On July 23, at the third concert of BATTLE OF TOKYO TIME 4 Jr.EXILE titled BATTLE OF iCON Z, it was announced that he would participate in the second chapter of LDH's audition iCON Z ~Dreams For Children~ as one of 13 finalists of the first chapter.[4][5][6]
During the audition, the contestants formed three different groups in order to compete for an imminent debut. On the November 13 episode of ~Yume no Audition Variety~ Dreamer Z, it was revealed that Kawaguchi was placed in Group 2.[7] On the November 20 episode, it was revealed that the group would be named KID PHENOMENON.[8]
2023[]
On March 26, it was announced that KID PHENOMENON would be making their major debut under Sony Music Associated Records on August 23 along with the other two groups of the audition.[9]
On August 23, Kawaguchi will make his major debut as a member of KID PHENOMENON with the release of the group's first single "Wheelie".

- According to himself, he is the "counseling room" of the group since he is often told that he is calm, and often asked for advice by the members. "I would like to have enough time to listen to what others have to say at any time."[2]
- Wants to become a multi-talented artist who can work in a wide range of fields.[2]
- Wants to try his hand at acting in the future.[11]
- Admires his mother and receives advice from her. "Her advice helped me when I had a tough time during auditions, and she has always been a person who teaches me helpful ways of thinking."[2]
- Tried rapping for the first time during the iCON Z audition, and originally entered the audition only as a dancer.[12][13]
- Became interested in makeup and beauty during the iCON Z audition, and was taught about it by Endo Tsubasa.[14]
- According to himself, he is really bad at cleaning up and keeping things tidy. Additionally, his room would be the messiest and dirtiest.[11]
- Dreamed of becoming an astronaut kindergarten.[15]
- Favorite food: noodles, especially ramen, somen, udon and soba[2]

- Is friends with ICEx member Takeno Sena. They met at a dance school both used to attend, and took lessons and performed at events together.[17]
