Kano Yoshiyuki[N 1] (加納嘉将; also written as Kanou Yoshiyuki) is a Japanese singer and performer. He is a member of the group BALLISTIK BOYZ from EXILE TRIBE.

He was selected to join the group after becoming a finalist of the EXILE Presents VOCAL BATTLE AUDITION 5 ~Yume wo Motta Wakamono Tachi e~.

Early Life[]

Kano Yoshiyuki was born on September 10, 1996 in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. He has a sister.

In is childhood, he was convinced he had no talent in singing as all of his family members were good at it except for him. Influenced by his sister who was a big fan of EXILE, he began listening to EXILE's music and came to admire EXILE ATSUSHI's and EXILE TAKAHIRO's vocal skills. While Kano himself lacked confidence in his singing and was embarrassed to sing in front of others, his friends praised him which changed his mindset.[1][2] As a result, he started a band with his friends in high school.[1] "Originally I thought I was tone-deaf and didn't like singing very much, but when I went to karaoke with my friends in high school, they told me I was good at it, and that's when I started to like singing."[3]

In his second year of junior high school, his hometown in Miyagi was hit by the Great East Japan Earthquake, and as he participated in volunteer work for the reconstruction, he started aspiring to practice a profession in which he could help people. After graduating from high school, he struggled deciding between becoming a full-fledged artist and going to university to work in the reconstruction field. Ultimately, he chose to go to university for a while, but he couldn't give up his dream of becoming an artist and eventually decided to drop out.[1][4][3]

When an EXPG branch opened in Sendai in 2017, he took an audition and entered the school as a special student in April of the same year. He had been thinking about moving to Tokyo before that, but the opening of the studio led him to stay in Miyagi and start taking dancing and singing lessons.[1][3]

Incidentally, the main reason for his desire to become an artist of LDH was that he wanted to help people as a member of the company after he saw EXILE supporting the reconstruction after the Great East Japan Earthquake under the theme of "Energize Japan" and found out that the company is involved in social contribution activities.[1][3] "When EXILE visited the disaster area and held a live concert, I was impressed by their performance and thought, 'I can help people with singing, too'. I thought that being an artist would allow me to fulfill both of the things I wanted to do [...].", "[...] When I learned about LDH, I realized that it is a company that is actively engaged in social contribution activities and my feelings of joining them became stronger."[3]

2017[]

However, he was chosen as candidate for BALLISTIK BOYZ and given a chance to debut.[3][4]

2018[]

In February 2018, he moved to Tokyo.[1]

2019[]

On May 22, 2019, he debuted in BALLISTIK BOYZ with the release of their first self-titled album.
