Kubo Takashi (久保貴史), better known by his stage name KUBO-C, is a Japanese rapper managed by LDH JAPAN. He is the leader of the group DOBERMAN INFINITY.

Early Life[]

Kubo Takashi was born on January 21, 1980 in Nara Prefecture, Japan.

In his youth, he played baseball and aspired to become a professional baseball player. Looking back at his childhood, he described himself as "a good-natured kid who played all the time".[1] He first encountered Hip-Hip in high school when he was skateboarding with GS, P-CHO and other local kids.[2] As a result, he became active in the Hip-Hop scene. "As I continued to do that, I started to stand out and started to get paid. What started as fun turned into work...... I began to think, 'It would be great if I could make money and eat from this'."[1]

Career[]

In 1998, he started his music career as a member of WEST HEAD (KUBO-C, GS, P-CHO) in his hometown Nara, and in 2000, he formed DOBERMAN INC with MAB from Shiga Prefecture and Tomogen from Hyogo Prefecture.[2] Afterwards, the group was active as underground rookies: "For a while, we didn't get paid much money at all, but we usually went around the country for live performances. It was impossible without a part-time job, but I was able to make a living. At that time, I thought to myself, 'I wish I didn't have to work so much'."[1]

On April 21, 2004, he made his major-label debut under Victor Entertainment as a member of DOBERMAN INC.

Personal life[]

On November 3, 2012, KUBO-C announced his marriage to a non-celebrity woman whom he had been in a relationship with for a long time.[3] In December 2014, it was revealed that the couple had welcomed their first child, a daughter.
