History[]
1999-2001: Debut and first generation J Soul Brothers[]
In 1991, ZOO member HIRO and other dancers formed the dance crew Japanese Soul Brothers and in 1998, MATSU and USA joined the team.
Ultimately, HIRO formed the dance & vocal group "J Soul Brothers" in 1999 together with four other members: vocalist SASA and performers MATSU, USA and MAKIDAI. The five-member group debuted with a self-titled single in 1999 under the record label avex trax. However, vocalist SASA decided to leave the group in 2001 in order to focus on a solo career. This led HIRO to re-debut the group with two new vocalists as "EXILE".
