Goto Takuma |
Goto Takuma (後藤拓磨), is a Japanese performer. He is a member of the group THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE.
He participated in the GLOBAL JAPAN CHALLENGE, but didn't get selected.
Early Life[]
Goto Takuma was born on December 4, 1998, in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan. He has a younger brother and a younger sister.
According to himself, he was "the type of kid who couldn't find his dream", but when he was in the 4th grade of elementary school, he saw EXILE performing "Ti Amo" on TV and started to aspire to become an artist. As the first step, Goto decided to participate in an audition for Gekidan EXILE, and when he learned that there was a dance screening with "Choo Choo TRAIN" as the theme song, he started attending a dance school in his hometown as preparation.[1][2] After learning the basics of dance, Goto decided to try his hand at dancing more seriously by becoming a student of EXPG Osaka while he was still in elementary school.[2]
Career[]
2013-2014[]
In late 2013, Goto participated in the GLOBAL JAPAN CHALLENGE to become part of PROJECT TARO, but was unsuccessful. However, he was selected as a candidate for a new EXILE TRIBE group called THE RAMPAGE on April 11, 2014. After completing the group's first musha shugyo, Goto was confirmed as an official member on September 12 in the same year.[3][4]
2017[]
On January 25, Goto made his major debut in THE RAMPAGE with the group's first single "Lightning".
2020[]
In early 2020, Goto paired up with Hasegawa Makoto to design a pair of sneakers for a THE RAMPAGE×K·SWISS collaboration.[5]
2022[]
In 2022, he made his acting debut in the stage play REAL RPG STAGE "ETERNAL2" -Kouya ni Moyuru Seigi-.
Personal Life[]
- Family
Both of his younger siblings were students of EXPG Osaka too. He has a close relationship with them, performing together at EX SHOW Osaka even after the debut of THE RAMPAGE and posting photos of them on the group's official Twitter page. His younger brother, Goto Ryoto, participated in the GLOBAL JAPAN CHALLENGE as well and became a member of PROJECT TARO until his withdrawal from the project in 2016.

- Described as a sensitive, naive and narcissistic person and a very hard worker who hates to lose. Apparently, he also has a shy side and is not good at talking to strangers.
- According to Yoshino Hokuto, he is the most attentive member of the group, is kind, has his own way of thinking and a very pure personality, and is a very decent person. He would also be single-minded and very particular about being a performer, and has a lot of pride.[8][9]
- Tries to stand out with his appearance: "When the people around me told me I was ordinary, it really got to me. That's when LIKIYA told me, 'Why don't you change your hairstyle?', which led me to change my hair to dreadlocks, and I also became interested in fashion."[10]

- According to himself, he had a much different personality when he was in elementary school than now: "I wasn't shy, I was able to communicate with the kids around me, and I was cheerful. [...] I was also quick to adopt what was popular. That all changed around junior high school."[1]
