GEKIDAN EXILE (劇団EXILE; EXILE Theatrical Company), formerly known as GEKIDAN EXILES, is an all-male theater troupe established in 2007 and managed by LDH JAPAN.

History[]
2007[]
Sometime in 2007, the troupe was formed under the name "GEKIDAN EXILES" as a theatrical unit from EXILE. The initial line-up was composed by MAKIDAI, MATSU, ÜSA, and AKIRA, with EXILE's leader HIRO serving as a general producer. The unit debuted on September 20 with the stage play Taiyou ni Yakarete.[1]
2008[]
On December 30, the troupe was renamed to "GEKIDAN EXILE" and an audition for new members, titled Dai 1-kai GEKIDAN EXILE Audition, was announced. It was also announced that the troupe would be working as three units: Hanagumi, Kazegumi, and Hibikigumi.[2]
2009[]
Sometime in 2009, Ozawa Yuta and Isomura Yosuke were revealed as the successful applicants of the audition, forming the unit Hanagumi alongside Aoyagi Sho, Akiyama Shintaro, Shin Jonte, and Harukawa Kyosuke.[3]
In August, the second audition of the troupe, Dai 2-kai GEKIDAN EXILE Audition, was held.
2010[]
In April, the unit Kazegumi was formed with the members ELLY, Shirahama Alan, Yamashita Kenjiro, Fujima Sho and Fujima Tsukasa.[4]
In August, the third audition of the troupe, Dai 3-kai GEKIDAN EXILE Audition, was held.
In September, Fujima Sho and Fujima Tsukasa left the troupe.
2011[]
On January 25, Suzuki Nobuyuki and Machida Keita joined the troupe as part of the unit Kazegumi after successfully passing the Dai 3-kai GEKIDAN EXILE Audition.[5]
On July 19, Shin Jonte, ELLY, Shirahama Alan, Yamashita Kenjiro, and Machida Keita left the troupe. Shin would focus on his solo activities as a singer, ELLY and Yamashita would focus on their activities as members of Sandaime J Soul Brothers, and Shirahama and Machida were selected as candidate members of a new unit named GENERATIONS. After the departures, the units Hanagumi and Kazegumi were dissolved and the remaining members started promoting as members of GEKIDAN EXILE without being part of any unit.[6]
2012[]
On February 14, Machida rejoined the troupe after withdrawing from GENERATIONS.[7]
On September 24, Onozuka Hayato, Nogae Shuhei and Yagi Masayasu joined the troupe.[8][9]
2013[]
On May 21, Isomura Yosuke left the troupe and LDH.[10]
2014[]
In April a new audition of the troupe started but this time without open recruitment, with the successful applicants joining the troupe as trainees.
On June 24, Nogae Shuhei joined the group DOBERMAN INFINITY under his stage name SWAY, holding a concurrent position with GEKIDAN EXILE.[11]
On July 2, it was revealed that Sato Kanta, Sugimoto Minagi, Goshima Ryo, and Sakano Eishin were selected as the successful applicants of the GEKIDAN EXILE audition and joined the troupe as trainees.[12]
2015[]
On January 5, Sato was selected to join the troupe as an official member, being the only trainee to join the group.[13]
On September 15, Harukawa Kyosuke left the troupe to start overseas activities as an actor.[14]
2016[]
On October 26, Aoyagi Sho made debut as a solo singer with the single "Naita Rosario".
2018[]
On October 19, Yagi Masayasu made his debut as a singer with the digital single "WANAWANA" under the stage name CRAZY SHIKAKKEI.
2020[]
In 2020, the stage play Yuusha no Tame ni Kane wa Naru marked the first time that all members of the group appeared in a stage play and were in charge of its production at the same time.[15]
2021[]
On July 21, it was announced that the film jam would be adapted into an original drama titled JAM -the drama-. The drama, starring all members of GEKIDAN EXILE, would start airing on August 26 on ABEMA SPECIAL.[16][17][18][19] On August 12, during a press conference for the drama, it was revealed that there would also be a stage play titled JAM -The Recital- and a photobook titled JAM -the PHOTOBOOK- in the works, with all of them being part of JAM -the project-.[20][21]
2022[]
On October 22, Suzuki Nobuyuki made his debut as a singer with the digital single "Futarinori".
On October 31, it was announced that LDH JAPAN actors Shiono Akihisa, Maeda Kentaro and Sakurai Yuki had joined GEKIDAN EXILE as new members. Additionally, it was revealed that the three new members would participate in the reading play BOOK ACT 2023 NEW YEAR SPECIAL held by LDH in early 2023.[22][23][24][25]
On November 1, the group's official fanclub was opened.[26]
2023[]
On September 29, it was announced that Akiyama Shintaro and Suzuki Nobuyuki would graduate from GEKIDAN EXILE. Akiyama would graduate from the group and leave LDH JAPAN at the end of February 2024, while Suzuki would graduate from the group at the end of December to focus on his solo activities.[27][28][29][30] In addition, it was announced that GEKIDAN EXILE would work under a new structure starting in 2024, including a new logo, creation of original goods, a panel exhibition, and new fanclub contents and events featuring all members.[31][32]
On December 31, Suzuki Nobuyuki officially graduated from the group.
2024[]
On February 29, Akiyama Shintaro officially graduated from the group and departed from LDH JAPAN.

- On March 1, 2024, the new content corner "DAY TO DAY" started on the Gekidan EXILE OFFICIAL FAN CLUB, in which the members would share their daily lives through photos.[33]
