Naming
Disambiguation
When an article shares the same name with another article (independently of the capitalization), please use a disambiguation in the title of the article to avoid conflicts and confusion between the articles. Some details to be noted regarding the disambiguation titles:
- If the two articles are by the same artist/group, it is not necessary to add the artist/group in the title.
Examples:
- RAY OF LIGHT, by THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE, can link to:
- RAY OF LIGHT, their 4th studio album.
- "RAY OF LIGHT (song)", a song from the said album of the group.
- Escape can link to:
- "Escape (FANTASTICS single)", the 10th single of FANTASTICS from EXILE TRIBE.
- "ESCAPE (THE RAMPAGE song)", a song of THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE.
- You & I can link to:
- "You & I (GENERATIONS song)", the 2nd digital single of GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE.
- "YOU & I (DOBERMAN INFINITY single)", the 9th single of DOBERMAN INFINITY.
If there are more than two articles with the same title, the main article will become a disambiguation page to link the other articles with the same title.
Example:
- Just the Way You Are, a disambiguation page to link the song articles of DEEP, EXILE ATSUSHI, and ØMI.
In addition, all articles with same title should include a note (more specifically the Template:About) at the top of the page distinguishing the articles.
Example of the about note (included in the "ANIMAL (GENERATIONS single)" article):
Song Features
The singles and song's article titles should emphasize the song title only. If the song includes a featuring artist on it, the article title should include the song's title only.
Examples:
- "My Turn feat. JP THE WAVY" article title should be only "My Turn".
- "SURVIVORS feat. DJ MAKIDAI from EXILE / Pride" article title should be "SURVIVORS / Pride".
Dates and numbers
Dates should be expressed as Month-Day-Year (eg. January 1, 2018). For release date of media such as albums, singles, and DVD/Blu-rays, it must be in Japan Standard Time (JST) unless otherwise stated.
For measurements, numbers should be under the metric system (kg, cm, etc.). In infoboxes, you may use the Template:Height to convert height metric units to imperial.
- Height: {{height|180}} → 180 cm (5 ft 10.8 in)?
Grammar
Spelling
The English language varies depending on the country or region, but American English is the standard language used on the wiki for all content.
Due to technical restrictions, the symbols # < > [ ] { } | can not be included in the titles. Use {{DISPLAYTITLE:*title here*}} at the top of the page with the correct title instead.
More information about this can be found here.
Capitalization and Romanization
Pages of music releases, concerts, groups, etc. are named by their official titles and capitalized exactly as they appear (examples: RAY OF LIGHT, not Ray of Light; "PARTY7 ~GENEjaNIGHT~", not "Party 7: Gene ja Night"; FANTASTICS, not Fantastics).
All Japanese words are capitalized except one-syllable particles (no, wo, wa, ni, de, etc.).
Articles named in Japanese should be romanized to the Latin alphabet, and should not be translated to English.
Example:
- 愛すべき未来へ should be romanized as Ai Subeki Mirai e, and not To a Lovely Future.
Pages for people are named by the person's full given name, using surname first following the Japanese name format (example: Shirahama Alan (
Categories
Categories intend to group together pages on a similar subject. It help readers to find and navigate the subject area and its relationships with one another. They are found at the bottom of the article's page. Clicking it brings up a category page listing the articles (or other pages) that have been added to that particular category. There may also be a section listing the subcategories of that category.
Example of a category tree (from least to most specific):
- [[Category:Singles]]
- [[Category:Singles by Year]]
