Special Units are groups created for special purposes and usually formed as a side project for the members involved. Sometimes, these units form with no intention to remain together forever. In other instances, the unit may become the primary project of the members' careers.

As opposed to Subunits, the members of special units do not come from the same group or band but are artists from different groups or even different agencies.
